Church of Santa Maria in Carbonara

Located on the ancient Via Sant’Antonio, this place of worship dates back to the beginning of the 12th century. It was the seat of the Templars for a long time in the Middle Ages, before it passed to the Knights of Rhodes, who later became the Knights of Malta.

It is the only Church in Viterbo to have ceramic decorations on its façade and the only one in which the Greek Orthodox rite is practised today.
