At the turn of the 1990s and 2000s, two teachers, Sandra Nardi and Patrizia Santi, together with two artists, Massimo Luccioli and Marco Ferri, developed an interesting project for the students of the ‘Ettore Sacconi’ Secondary School. The work consisted of the realisation of majolica tiles which were painted by the students, accompanied by descriptive texts which they also wrote. These were then affixed at various points in the city according to the following thematic itineraries:
– the city’s scenic views – the Alberata, the Ripa and Piazza Belvedere – and the surrounding landmarks;
– places linked to the local poet Vincenzo Cardarelli;
– places linked to the dialectal poet Titta Marini.
In spite of the wear and tear caused by the passing of time, these majolica tiles are still a great help for passing visitors and a valuable inspiration for possible future projects.
